DATABASE MANAGER HOWARD UNIVERSITY UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT The purpose of this position is to maintain the integrity of the constituent database; coordinate/conduct training and conduct various enhancement and analysis activities on the database. Generates lists, reports, labels, data files and other outputs, both routinely and as requested and assigned. Extracts, synthesizes, analyzes, reports and distributes data from the University's Advancement database. Facilitates between the 80,000 record constituent database and other databases and software programs. Develops a suite of standardized reports that can be run using MS Access, "report writer", crystal reports" or other report generation tools. Serves as systems administrator and facilitates interface between the constituent database and other databases and software programs. Coordinates or performs ongoing training of Advancement personnel in use of the constituent database. Provides backup assistance in data and gift entry during high-volume times. Performs other job related duties as assigned. MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related field (official transcript required at time of application) and two (2) years computer software management experience; or the equivalent combination of six (6) years combined relevant training and experience. Proficiency in SQL, developing Crystal an Access reports as well as education, experience or familiarity with fundraising principles and software desired.
