Position: Database Coordinator Organization: Film Forum Location: New York Date posted: 7/27/2006 Application deadline: 8/10/2006 Founded in 1970, Film Forum is a nonprofit cinema in lower Manhattan whose mission is to present NYC theatrical premieres of American independents and foreign art films, and repertory selections including foreign and American classics, genre works, festivals and directors' retrospectives. Film Forum raises over $1.2 million - or approximately 30% - of its total $4.1 million annual operating budget from public and private sources. The remaining 70% comes from earned income (admissions, concessions, merchandise). The Database Coordinator will be the front-line Raiser's Edge staff - the in-house "expert" on the database's full range of data collection, analysis and communications capabilities as they relate to development/fund raising primarily, but also membership and e-commerce. The DC will be proactive in exploring the database's capabilities and making recommendations about optimal use relative to Film Forum's broader organizational goals. Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience with Raiser's Edge 7, Crystal Reports and Excel. Experience and interest in nonprofit development/marketing a must. Precision and attention to data accuracy and consistency crucial. Must have ability to analyze data, track trends, generate effective reports on a timely basis; and be highly self-starting, as well as able to work flexibly and communicate effectively as part of a team. Basic network administration and/or Web design experience preferred. Knowledge of/interest in the arts or independent/classic film a plus. Supervisory relationships: The DC reports to and consults with FF's Development Manager on all database matters. On matters of e-commerce and Web site, the DC will report jointly to the Development Manager and the General Manager, and work in coordination with the Web Manager. The DC will also work in coordination with the membership department, and supervise data entry staff. Primary Responsibilities: ·Administration of electronic mailing lists and e-communications blasts, including data imports ·Setup and maintenance of coding, data entry protocols and mass-mailing templates ·Monitor data quality and consistency, establish/supervise data clean-up as needed ·Recommend, conceive and produce regular data analysis reports ·Make recommendations re: data trends, marketing potential, data collection needs ·Create "Style Manual" for organization-wide database use ·Generate queries and segmentation lists for mailings and events, and reports as requested ·Training and ongoing support of development and admin. staff on discrete database functions Salary: $32-35,000 DOE.
