The incumbent is responsible for team based development of a robust reporting and business intelligence environment in support of the Office of Development. Assist in the creation of a reporting data model that will support BI solutions for several roles in the Office of Development. Assist in the design of and provide support for a security model, architecture and report distribution options, within the context of information presentation. Perform analysis of reporting requirements and implement COGNOS based solutions. Gather and document end-user requirements and create metadata models using Framework Manager. Design and develop Business Intelligence solutions and support clients in the use of Query Studio and Report Studio. Assist in the delivery of standard and customized Business Intelligence technical and functional training. Priorities: Design and develop a new reporting environment for the Office of Development, including work on a data model, a security model, reporting requirements and report distribution. (50%) Requirements gathering , analysis, and creation of reports. (40%) In the area of reporting, contribute to building the skills of the rest of the DIS group through mentoring and team building. (10%) Essential Qualifications A minimum of 3 years experience designing and developing Business Intelligence solutions. Familiarity with COGNOS products is preferred, but experience with other Business Intelligence solutions will be considered. RDBMS technology (Oracle preferred). SQL experience (ability to read/write SQL and/or PL/SQL). Ability to handle broadly defined multiple assignments. Related college degree or equivalent experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with COGNOS products is preferred. Oracle preferred. Familiarity with UNIX. Experience in Web/Internet technology, HTML, XML, JAVA, JAVA script, and SOAP experience a strong plus. Data Modeling experience a strong plus.
