Data and Systems Specialist The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is the largest regional non-profit conservation organization working solely to save the Bay. www.cbf.org . The Chesapeake Bay Foundation seeks a Data and Systems Specialist in its Philip Merrill Environmental Center headquarters office in Annapolis. CONTEXT OF THE POSITION The Data and Systems Specialist is responsible for the integrity and validation of Raiser’s Edge data and timely and accurate production of acknowledgment, renewal and other specialized data files in support of Development’s fundraising processes. Serves as back-up resource for Raiser’s Edge support & training, and data entry. Essential functions include: 1. Data Integrity and Validation Perform multiple data validation procedures on Raiser’s Edge data weekly and clean-up incorrect data Create new validation procedures as needed to ensure the overall integrity of data in Raiser’s Edge Advise team members and other Development personnel on steps to take to improve data quality 1. Data Pulls for Specialized Mailings & Programs Initiates monthly and weekly data “pulls” for all specialized mailings, including outsourced acknowledgements, renewals, appeals, annual report, newsletter, etc. Working with the director, initiates and executes special invitation list “pulls” as needed for events and field trips. Works with director to develop and manage timeliness of data needed. Works with outside vendors to produce accurate data files, utilizing state of the art methods and systems as appropriate. Provides review of data prior to distribution to outside resources, to verify accuracy and program requirements. Recommends new systems for data as appropriate, working with director to develop new programs. 3. Raiser’s Edge Support and Training Serve as back-up to provide Raiser’s Edge training to Development staff Participate on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) team and work to ensure timely and accurate updates PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree. Proficient in computer systems, including MS Office and Raiser’s Edge. Advanced knowledge of database systems in a LAN. Thorough knowledge of Development department functions and general knowledge of other CBF department functions. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
