Director, Advancement Services The National Rifle Association (NRA) is seeking an experienced fundraising professional. The Director of Advancement Services will develop strategies, implement, and manage programs that support the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects and donors for major gifts, planned gifts, and corporate and foundation support for the National Rifle Association [501(c)(4)] and all 501 (c)(3) affiliates. The position will manage Advancement Services programs to include donor information services, special events, research, stewardship, and the creation and maintenance of prospect pools for major and planned gifts. The position will also manage Advancement Services Department personnel and all Advancement administrative support staff members. In addition, it will lead the development and management of one-year and five-year budgets for Advancement and will assure the accurate accounting, receipting, and acknowledgement for all major gifts, pledges, and documented expectancies. This position manages the internal operation of the Advancement Division and provides analysis and reports on the status and effectiveness of all Advancement programs. Requirements include: A passion for the mission of the NRA. Personal and professional integrity, as well as high standards of excellence. BA/BS degree. Ten to twenty years of experience in nonprofit/ fundraising management with a non-profit of scale, substance, and/or reputation equal to or greater than the NRA. A proven and substantial track record of successfully managing advancement programs including but not limited to budget development and management, donor information services, stewardship, events, research, direct solicitation programs, donor recognition societies, and office management. A proven track record as a successful manager and motivator of personnel at all levels of experience and with a variety of responsibilities and duties. Ability and experience to discern informational needs of advancement department, interpret those needs into useful reports, and communicate information and data in an understandable manner to provide needed facts and guidance to the decision making process. Working knowledge of charitable giving best practices, tax laws, and regulations. Ability to travel on occasion locally and nationally, and over weekends.
