NAIT’s Department of Advancement is seeking an individual to join a group of dynamic and forward-thinking professionals. The Database Assistant works with the donor, prospect, and alumni data using Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software application. The Database Assistant enters data, reviews records, troubleshoots problems, and responds to requests for information.
Reporting to the Records & Systems Coordinator, this highly organized and energetic self-starter works in close communication with the data team to monitor priorities and follow through on assigned tasks and responsibilities. As the successful candidate, you will have the skills to analyze problems and see the impact of actions. Accuracy and attention to detail is paramount.
This is a temporary position starting immediately and continuing for a minimum of one-year.
Responsibilities:
§ Reviews and updates constituent records for accuracy and completeness.
§ Supports the compiling of invitation lists based on criteria provided.
§ Enters event data including, RSVPs and attendance records.
§ Coordinates the Christmas card updates, signatures and mail out.
§ Queries the database in response to requests for information, issues identified and to support data cleansing.
§ Assists with documenting practices, developing procedures and training staff within the Department.
§ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
§ Experience with databases is required; experience with Raiser’s Edge is a definite asset. An understanding of information management systems and database structure and design is preferred.
§ High school diploma required. Relevant post-secondary coursework is an asset.
§ Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
§ Experience with relationship management or fundraising organizations is an asset.
