COORDINATOR, DONOR SERVICES & DATABASE Development & Outreach Department (New York Office)
Human Rights Watch (“HRW”) is seeking a Coordinator of Donor Services and Database to provide critical donor service and database administration support to its Development & Outreach department.
Description: The Coordinator will provide superior service to Human Rights Watch donors. S/he will utilize the departmental data management systems in support of department-wide goals and functions and provide support to a growing direct marketing program. S/he must have knowledge of the current version of Raiser’s Edge and experience working with donors/customers over the phone, by email, and by postal mail.
The general job duties of this position include, but are not limited to: respond appropriately to donor phone, email and postal mail queries; correct and update donor information from returned mail and other sources, ensuring the accuracy, continuity and security of data; supporting staff to successfully enter data, design and generate queries, export data, and produce lists and reports; participate in the gift entry and acknowledgment processes; prepare ad hoc and custom reports as required; assist the Director and Manager of Development Operations with conceptualizing and implementing new database and research tools; coordinate quarterly and special mailings to donors and prospects; and provide other related services as needed.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver, strategic and organized thinker with a minimum of two years of experience using Raiser’s Edge. S/he will have experience in pulling database queries, import/export and reporting functions; full working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, mail merges and other standard software applications; strong written and verbal skills in English; strong customer service skills; excellent time-management and prioritization abilities. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. The successful candidate will be a team player, self-motivated, attentive to detail and able to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of French and/or German languages is a plus.
