R&D Analyst Description The Research and Development group analyzes fundraising data from Target's client base of large non-profit organizations with the purpose of developing new products to assist these organizations in managing their programs. The Research and Development Analyst will use Oracle SQL to examine client data sets and create sample data sets to support research initiatives. Applicants should have a background of thinking analytically and should have excellent communication skills. Prior experience with SQL is a plus, but not necessary. Job Duties Extract and load transactional and account-based data files in to Target's Oracle databases. Write SQL queries to gather summary information from transactional data sets. Draw conclusions from data analysis, and be able to troubleshoot unexpected results. Write and run SQL queries to check data quality. Prepare and sample data sets using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL to assist in research. Develop enhancements and modifications for existing processes. Provide technical assistance to account managers. Work directly with client organizations to understand data files and categorize codes. Work closely with team members to meet deadlines for order delivery and research. Requirements College degree from an accredited college or university. Excellent attention to detail, and solid analytic skills. Strong communication skills and ability to work efffectively with customers. Computer programming coursework or professional experience is a plus.
