Rep Power: 0  | Database Administrator TITLE Database Administrator (Raiser’s Edge), Development Department ORGANIZATION The organization is the Foundation for a major not-for profit teaching hospital (300 beds), affiliated with Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. The hospital has been the recipient of many awards and designations that recognize excellence in medicine, including the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence, and The National Coalition on Healthcare’s award for One of the Best Critical Care Units in the Nation. In addition, the American College of Surgeons has designated this hospital as having the only teaching hospital cancer program in lower Fairfield County, the highest form of recognition for a community hospital. LOCATION Lower Fairfield County, Connecticut COMPENSATION $60k - $80k + & Exceptional Benefits JOB OPPORTUNITY The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership in relation to creating and implementing policies and practices for the Foundation’s donor database (Raiser’s Edge). This will include ensuring that the database is organized, updated and maintained in relation to donor records; reports on fundraising initiatives; and prospect tracking/stewardship. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Manages a universal system (Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge) of donor information and reporting for this organization. 2. Trains and supervises Foundation staff to insure departmental consistency in data entry, prospect management, and fundraising reporting. 3. Evaluates the Raiser’s Edge database; and makes recommendations, modifications or changes to achieve system goals and objectives. 4. Develops, and maintains Raiser’s Edge policies and practices that are understood and utilized by other Foundation staff members. 5. Prepares and provides all requested Raiser’s Edge reports in order to assist with cultivation and stewardship activities that seek to acquire, convert, renew, recognize and upgrade prospects/donors. 6. Provides required information and reports to the hospital’s Information Systems, and financial departments, as needed. Make recommendations to IS regarding the best computer hardware and software to achieve the Foundation’s fundraising goals. 7. Works with the Senior Vice President and the Foundation staff to evaluate and improve all aspects of donor recognition and acknowledgement processing functions including crediting, acknowledging, tracking, and reporting of donor gifts. 8. Serves as a member of the Foundation’s fundraising team and plays a role in the development, implementation and assessment of the Foundation’s annual and long-term strategic plans. 9. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree is required, and an advanced degree is preferred. The successful candidate will have at least three years of Raiser’s Edge database management experience; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Crystal Reports for Raiser’s Edge, strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and organizational skills; and the ability to be a team player who can work with other Foundation staff to successfully achieve the organization’s fundraising goals.
