SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director of Development
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: NONE
The Office of Institutional Advancement seeks a professional with a minimum of four years experience in development prospect research and database management.
Responsibilities:
Examine and strengthen policies, procedures and protocol for the acquisition and management of constituents information using Raiser’s Edge (v7.80 soon to upgrade)
Educate and train Alumni and Development personnel on the use of established policies, procedures and protocol pertaining to database
Compile, update and maintain files/profiles on constituents
Develop and implement a comprehensive prospect identification and prospect research system utilizing Raiser’s Edge
Assemble and provide detailed biographical profiles on individuals (donors and non-donors), corporations and foundations to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, and the Directors of Alumni, Development and Corporations/Foundations
Relate research and philanthropic trends to Vice President of Institutional Advancement based on current publications, seminars, surveys, programs, etc.
To attend seminars and/or conferences deemed necessary by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement
Write and run queries for mailings, special events, etc. and coordinate the production of labels and lists
Oversee the daily updating of records acquired through any source
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with Master’s preferred
Four years of Development fundraising experience
Knowledge and experience with Raiser’s Edge software or a comparable development software program
Strong research, writing and computer skills
Keen attention to detail
Ability to work with diverse populations including cultural and philanthropic differences
Demonstrated ability to build consensus amongst differing groups
Demonstrated ability to work and participate in a proactive team atmosphere
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
Proven ability to uphold confidential information with the highest ethical code
