Business Systems (Raiser’s Edge Database) Manager The Business Systems Manager oversees a staff of 10 and is responsible for the management of the American Red Cross National Headquarters fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge), including training, data management, user enhancements, process improvement, user support and support to chapters. Key duties: --Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all donor related data maintained in the Raiser’s Edge donor database. --Ensure the donor data management system meets the needs of the end users. --Coordinate and manage relationships within Development and with other stakeholder units, particularly Information Systems and Finance, on data management initiatives and priorities throughout the department. --
Establish donor data management plans and policies to support national headquarters and chapter development plans and programs.
--Manage the training and ongoing support of all database users. --Manage data related process improvement.
--Work closely with stakeholders within Development to identify and implement user enhancements. --Work closely with stakeholder departments, including Finance and Internal Audit, to ensure processes meet established guidelines. --Develop and lead projects to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of donor data management. Education and Experience Required: Candidates must have a bachelors degree and at least 7 years experience in donor database management or related functions; experience in personnel management. Managerial experience in a complex, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is essential. Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Highly refined team-building skills with staff, internal, and external clients is essential. Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of fundraising data systems is required; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus. Gift Processing Manager As the principle American Red Cross authority on gift processing, the position oversees a staff of 15 and closely manages of all phases of gift processing operations that directly support National Headquarters fundraising and indirectly support chapter fundraising. Key Duties: --Design, lead and manage gift processing from caging/cashiering to acknowledgement, for all vehicles, and all forms of gifts, including matching gifts. --Work in partnership with senior management to ensure donations are properly recorded to meet donor intent in both the fundraising database and the general ledger. --Manage relationships with external vendors for mail processing and acknowledgment, including the selection and proposal process. --Manage the quality assurance review of all mail vendor data entry to comply with established audit and financial guidelines. --Manage the direct data entry of numerous lockboxes, including major gifts, Board of Governor, credit cards and wires, ensuring accurate and timely data entry. Manage matching gift and workplace giving processing. Education and Experience Required: Candidates must have a bachelors degree and at least 5 (+) years experience in gift processing or related functions and experience in personnel management. One to three years managerial experience in a complex, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is essential. Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Highly refined team-building skills with staff, internal, and external clients is ssential. Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
