IONA Senior Services jcminton@iona.org Development Associate Qualifications: Experience in multi-faceted organizations. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Skilled in database management and proficient in Microsoft applications--Office 2003, preferred. Experience with Firefox and Explorer browsers, Outlook and Raiser’s Edge software and previous work experience with volunteers preferred. General Responsibility: The Development Associate provides support for the Executive Director and the Development Department of IONA. The position will have day-to-day responsibility for the Raiser’s Edge database, acknowledgement of contributions, and assist the Executive Director with communications to volunteers, IONA Boards and key donors. The Development Associate will share responsibility with other staff for foundation grant research and fundraising support; work with all staff to promote community awareness of IONA Senior Services and other community resources; and participate in other agency-wide efforts that support the organization as a whole. Reports to: Director of Development Major Tasks: · Using Raiser’s Edge database, e.g. maintain accurate donor records, updates to records, design and execute queries, and produce reports as indicated. · Create and maintain documentation for Raiser’s Edge data entry policies, procedures and reports. · Manage the donor acknowledgement process. · Track financial progress of events and appeals, prepare reports as appropriate, and work with IONA Accountant to ensure accuracy of gift totals. · Provide support to the Development Department and the Executive Director. · Prepare correspondence and meeting material for IONA’s Boards and related Committees. · Assist with preparation of, and coordinate the mailings for, at least three direct mail solicitations annually. · Assist with the logistics of special events, e.g. seating charts, invoices, pledge reminders, and catering. · Assist with the preparation and distribution of media releases and community education materials. · Maintain Foundation grant files and conduct proposal research. · Provide general administrative support as needed. · Other tasks as assigned. |
