Bulletin # 06-042; 9/7/06 INFORMATION SYSTEMS COORDINATOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANT, LEVEL II, 06-042 University Development Salary Range: $3996-$8179/Monthly Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m; temporary, expires on or before one year of appointment; may be extended; may become permanent; exempt classification. Essential Job Functions: Under the direction of the Director of Advancement Services in the Office of University Development, the incumbent coordinates and maintains a comprehensive fund raising software package called PeopleSoft Contributor Relations (PS CR) that utilizes a web-based presentation layer and a relational Oracle database. Incumbent will also be responsible for: overseeing the maintenance of information on alumni, non-alumni, corporations, foundations, donors, and non-donors on the PS CR database through manual and programmed data; researching and working with Information Technology Division to correct errors in data; identifying and correcting business practices that result in incorrectly reported data; coordinating the business functions of gift and pledge processing, bio/demographic data entry, alumni membership processing, managing files in PS CR; ensuring optimal use of database to support the division of Institutional Advancement programs and objectives (including University Development, Public Affairs, and Alumni Relations); acts as liaison with ITS; responsible for system coordination; developing and running reports and queries; training and end-user support; functional development of new system modules; system maintenance and upgrades; establishing business processes and procedures for ensuring the on-going data integrity of the advancements database; working with ITS Division to coordinate the technical support needs of the database (alumni transfer process, setting up security profiles, application system maintenance and upgrades, and uploading data from outside vendors). Incumbent maintain effective communications between Institutional Advancement, and the ITS Division. This position requires both functional and technical abilities, strong analytical, communication, and management skills. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor's or an advanced degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, and Administration or a related field is required and equivalent to three years of experience which includes: performing routine and technical analysis of business and/or system processes; relational database applications development and implementation. Must have experience with data retrieval and reporting tools, such as: Query, SQL, Crystal Reports, Nvision, or similar SQL-based language; hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows and applications such as: Word, Excel, Access, Front Page, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must possess analytical and problem solving skills, especially with complex data issues following the standards of the department. Knowledge of: information technology systems and/or applications including campus wide systems, multimedia environments, access procedures, networks, and/or databases; data administration; network administration; training theory and practices demonstrated by an ability to develop and deliver technical training and user documentation. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to transfer user requests from administrative personnel into technical requirements; skills in writing training documentation clearly and concisely. Ability to perform day-to-day work independently with general instructions; to manage multiple work priorities. Must possess strong project management skills. Ability to organize time so that tasks are completed in a timely fashion; work in a dynamic environment and interact and train end users of varying technical levels; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Special Desired Qualifications: Previous experience working with a relational database fund raising system to support a fund raising organization such as, Peoplesoft Advancement, Razor's Edge, or BSR at a University or non-profit. Experience in groups or individuals on software programs or other database systems. Experience with sales force automation may also apply. Familiarity with PeopleSoft products.
