Adjust Tax Claim Functionality (UK)

I have been helping review the Gift Aid tax claim adjustment functionality in 7.82. I remember when the functionality was first proposed and I looked through some early technical specification that I had reservations. The main problem I see is that the whole process has been split up from the regular adjustments. I find it somewhat of a compromise and was wondering how others have handled working with regular adjustments and tax claim adjustments. How have they affected you day to day processing.

For the Non-UK among you there is some new functionality in the UK version that allows for an adjustment to be made to a gift that has a gift aid claim on it so that you are able to either just refund the gift aid or refund the gift aid and adjust the new gift. The problem is that this is incorporated into RE via a new menu item adjust tax claim whereas it really should have been part of the original adjustment process.

Thanks

David

We're still on 7.81, which I believe is the version when the functionality came in. I'm not sure how much is different in that area in 7.82.

However to answer your questions.
It's a pain to have to do a tax claim adjustment when you really want to do a normal adjustment, even to just change the appeal code.
What I do when we do a refund tax "claim" is to exclude those tax claim adjustments which are just really normal gift adjustments on a gift that happens to be gift aided, so they never come out.

I have some really big issues with the new functionality. See my blog entry for more info:
