We are about to upgrade Financial Edge 7.61.62.0005 to 7.70.638. When we upgraded to 7.61 we noticed that the system as a whole ran slower. This was partially fixed by increasing the ram in the workstations to 1G but there are still some complaints.
Are there any gotchas or issues that we would think about before we proceed with the 7.70 upgrade? We are running SQL Server 2000 on a Windows 2000 AS box.
We just did the upgrade today, and so far have not noticed any unusual slowness, but then again, the system gets a lot lighter usage in the summer. According to some folks on the Blackbaud support forums, using a RAID5 configuration with SQL 2005 is causing performance problems, but who knows for sure. Hope that helps.
I would go to the FE Slow reports posting and read that. We upgraded from 7.6 to 7.7 and income statement reports went from 10 minutes to over an hour.
