Does anyone use BB Payroll product?

I've seen no mention of this product. We have it and I hear a lot of swearing and gnashing of teeth from that end of the building. I'm scared to go down there.

Our organization uses Payroll and my office is next to accounting. We have been using this product since 2002. I have not heard too many complaints.

Our organization just this month began using Payroll. We've had swearing and gnashing of teeth, but we had the same with The Raiser's Edge and The Financial Edge just after those conversions and no complaining now. I'll know better in a few months if I still hear complaints, but I think things will settle down. Let me know if you learn anything that help with the gnashing of teeth part. Sometmes I'm afraid to go to that part of our building, too.

payroll

Yes we are using Payroll 6 with FE. It seems to work ok, but we did have to go outside the system to create our own time sheets and we import them. We are looking to move to Payroll 7 but we are the biggest users of BB Payroll. We cut about 1500 checks a month, and are a higher education so it can often be a complicated procedure for our faculty checks. At the conference I had a one on one with the person who did our movement from AFN to FE and he showed me the new payroll it looks great I can't wait to see it with our database. We had to ask for a demo with our database and they are willing to do one. But sometimes I do feel like I am the guinea pig for BB.

I have been using payroll since mid '90's and have always found support to be responsive and the system to work well. I can honestly say I converted to 7 on my own and did so without missing pay. I still prefer to do inhouse pays to outsourcing. The control over what is happening is well worth it.

We will be converting to Payroll 7 from 6.4 in the upcoming weeks. Did you notice any real problems during or at the end of conversion, especially with the conversion of shedules and reds/deds? I have also heard that to run/calculate payroll in version 7 it takes an extraordinary amount of time. Have you found any delays in 7 from 6.4?

We are considering going to FE but heard that the payroll module does not have a way of dealing with over-time. Is that true?

Payroll 7

Since I started this thread I thought I should reply to it. We have actually gone to Payroll 7 as of Oct 27th.Our first week using it was a very busy time for us because we had to cut two different Payroll processes. We ( Elmira College) are ( I am not makeing this up just ask anyone at Blackbaud) the biggest users of Payroll with Cutting over 1500 checks a month. On October 31st we had converted, set up all our paytypes, schedules, deducations, benefits and calculated and cut 1000 checks/eft notices. So far we have done exactly 2 biweekly check runs, one student check run and one administrator run- a month worth of 1500 checks and we have had no problems. They only thing we have run into is us the human side of things getting use to the new system.

I am not sure what you mean by AFn to Fe do you mean the converting? I am a little confused because Payroll 6 is no longer available.
