Hello, all.

I am wondering if anyone has best practices on how long to keep information current in the EE FE system. Currently we have a policy in place to keep students in the database for 10 years after they graduate at least. (We do have RE, but have not integrated yet due to data cleanup issues in our RE database.)

EE 6 had a "purge" option, but when I called support they said that most clients keep all information in EE FE 7 current. The reason that I am asking is that recently our database topped 5 gigs, which makes it an unwieldly beast for things like backups and FTPs.

Kate,

I would advise against taking any student out of the system - especially if down the road you're going to integrate with RE...

RE does not have a place to keep test scores, medical info, or any of the multitude of things that are specific to admissions & current student information.

How many inactive inquiry's do you have in your db?

I would start with those records and purge them -

Also, have you checked for duplicate records? merge & purge those as well.
