Exclamation subreport causing duplication (v8.5)

Hi,

I'm working on a gift report that looks basically like this:

Donor SoftCredit PledgeAmt Campaign.. etc..

In order to prevent the details section from repeating when I have multiple soft credits on the same gift, I put the soft credt name in a subreport, which worked fine. Both soft credits show up on the same line...whereas before there was one on each line with the 2nd line being a duplication of the first with only the soft credit name being different. However, now the entire section repeats when there's more than 1 soft credit, and both soft credits are listing on each line.

When I check "Suppress When Duplicated" on the subreport, it doesn't stay checked, nor does it change anything.

Help!?

Thanks!
Matthew

There could be a couple of things that are causing this. Make sure that all references to the soft credit table are removed from the main report. If you look at the field explorer, it will show you which fields are being used, but, unfortunately, not where.

Check your links from the main report to the sub-report. It's possible that the field from the main report that is used to link to the sub-report is causing the problem. If your link is too low in the tree structure, it will cause duplicates. In this case, moving the link higher up in the tree will usually resolve this problem.

There may be other fields that are causing duplicates. In this case, moving the sub-reports to an appropriate group header/footer will resolve the problem.

If you're still having trouble, I can probably figure it out by looking at the file.
