I am trying to run a Solicitor Analysis Report for a group of solicitors who will be meeting tomorrow. And the report is not showing gifts that are attributed to the solicitors. They are listed on the relationship tab as being the solicitor, as well as on the gifts. I've checked dates & everything else I can think of but the gifts are still not showing. Aruggghhh!
Did you check the soft credit? I just recently had a similar problem and soft credit was the culprit. If you have soft credit going to the recipient and there are soft credit recipients on the gift record, but the gift was hard credited to your solicitor(s), then the gift wouldn't show up in your report. Conversely, if you have soft credit going to the donor and your solicitors received soft credit (such as one of their donors giving through a foundation), then the gifts wouldn't show up either.
Is there more than one solicitor on either the constituent record or gift record? I know that we try and steer clear of having multiple solicitors on the records as much as possible, but it does still happen and can have implications for this.
In my experience, troubleshooting the canned reports is a lot more difficult than troubleshooting a query and export. After having a lot of similar discrepancies with the canned reports, I now prefer to use query and export for more "official" reports and just take my data to Crystal or Excel. For just a quick glimpse at the data, I still use canned reports, but if I need to do any drilling down, they are, for the most part, not very helpful.
