I am waving a white flag here as being new to the Researcher's Edge. I am here trying to resolve my own personal issues with how it was presented to us vs. how it is working in reality. One of the big catchers for the powers that be was during the presentation, the presenter pulled up a map, rt clicked on a city and then dragged it out with a small box indicating the number of radius miles he was going out. Then when he let go, the circle appeared and all of the prospects in the Researcher's Edge database who fall in that circle would pop up. I have Researcher's for two weeks, searched through the tutorials, searched on-line and knowledgebase and not finding anything that would help me duplicate this action. Thoughts? Or am I missing something?
We don't have Researcher's Edge, but we do use MapPoint with Raiser's Edge. It's probably similar. You need to buy MapPoint from Blackbaud. Once you have it installed, there is a section on your navigation bar for mapping. If you click on that, you'll have the option to pass a query to MapPoint.
Blackbaud has modified MapPoint to integrate tightly with the Raiser's Edge, so you can't just go down to your local computer store and buy MapPoint off the shelf.

Drew - Thank you for your response. We purchased the mappoint software from Blackbaud in conjunction iwth Researcher's Edge. I have them both installed on my computer. I am just trying to figure out how they did a radius search as they demonstrated during their presentation. Unfortuntely I haven't been getting much help from them.
Make sure that your Drawing Tools toolbar is viewable (View > Toolbars > Drawing). Once it is viewable, you should see a circle with a radius on the toolbar. Select that tool.
One of the customizations that Blackbaud did was to remove the MapPoint help from anywhere in the program. What were they thinking? You can find the MapPoint help in the install directory. If you use the default location, it will be C:\Program Files\Microsoft MapPoint\MapPoint.chm. (There is a typo in the RE documentation.)

We got one free license for MapPoint sent to us by BB. Are you sure
you need to pay for it? We are on RE:Enterprise now, but I think we
had it before that.

I'm actually not involved in that part of the process, so I don't really know. I do know that we had to purchase extra licenses when we wanted to give other people access to MapPoint.

Has anyone found using MapPoint within RE7 that the legend and route button on the standard tool bar don't work. The window that is supposed to appear on the left doesn't. But, if you click out of the RE7 Map window a couple of times and then do control G you can get the window to appear. Has anyone encountered this problem before?
