What kinds of things are you using VBA user fields for?

Perhpas this belongs somewhere else in the forum but I thought the question seemed logical posed here.

We have the VBA module and my question is can you tell me if you are using the VBA user fields and if so for what?
I see the fields available in export and wonder what others are using this for and what kind of potential lies there.

Maybe I can ask our programmer to develop something that would suit our purpose.
thanks for your time.

Hi Melody,

You can use the "user fields" to do calculations. For instance, if you wanted to export a list of donors along with their total giving for the past year, you could create a macro field for "total" and have your macro calculate the total for each constit in the resulting list.

I sort of missed the post when it came out but I wrote an article on what you can do with VBA user fields here:

RE-Decoded » Blog Archive » VBA User Fields in Export

Hope that helps
