Hi Folks,

I have a client that wants to be able to download their online credit card transactions into RE.

After reading many posts it seems that using the API would be a good solution as the process could be automated. But I have also read that the API has to purchased seperatly.

From a quick glance it seems that the client already has a number of plugins available (DLL's in the plugins directory), does that mean they have the API already installed ???.

To confirm the existance of the API what files should I look for.

Anybody can run plug-ins. You do not need the API to do so. It may be possible to create a plug-in that will do exactly what your client wants without purchasing the API. You can look for signs of the API being installed but it is not that easy to know exactly. In the Tools menu there may be an entry Visual Basic for Applications but this means that they have the VBA module. There is no obvious sign that they have the API without creating a simple standalone program that tries to connect to it.
