Quickbooks and RE integration - Blackbaud User Society

Does anyone use Quickbooks SDK for importing gift information from RE? Or any other tools to download gift info from RE into QB?

We use RE as a donor software and then QB for accoutning. We end up duplicating our data entry because we havent figured out a reliable (and cost-effective) way to integrate the two programs. Our intent is to cut down on the dual data entry by just entering gift info in RE, exporting that info to a csv of iif file and then importing into QB. Has anyone else done this? If so, could you give us some insight into your process? What type of export are you using? Is there any manual manipulation of the data after it is exported and prior to importing to QB? Are you using a third party software, RE customization or other tool to accomplish this? Your detailed info on this process is appreciated!!!

To export data from one system to another is a very common task. Whether you are using imports and exports or whether you are using a customization to perform the task the end result can be a real increase in efficiency.

I have not worked directly with Quickbooks but have done such integrations with other accounting software packages. I would happily share my experience with you if you have specific questions.

There is a long-lost quickbooks plugin to integrate RE to QB. I don't know about it's current compatibility with RE 7.81, but it's out there.

Funnily enough MIP was the first interface I built a long time ago. It was not as integrated as I might do it now though.

Are you using MIP? and building an integration? I would be interested to know how you approached it. As I said it was quite a few years since I last worked with MIP but it was an interesting project.

we are using MIP, and I'm not yet considering an integration...for a set of reasons I won't post here that have nothing to do with software functionality or what's possible..
