Opening records in Query

rrutkowski,

You can still work through a query, but now you just do it in query, eliminating the need to go back into records. Create the query and run it, and then, from the results tab, double click on the first record. The record will open, complete with the "VCR" buttons (First, Previous, Next, Last) on the toolbar that you are used to. Change what you need and use the next button to move on. A prompt will show up to save- hit enter and it saves, closes the current and opens the next. When finished and back on the results tab in the query, refresh the query and see your new results- (i.e. if you were changing a field the query is based on, the new list does not show up until you refresh the query at the end.)

Even better- use the user options to decide which tab to start on. For example, my AD at the JS is using this feature to enter all her recommendations- she sets up a query, changes her user options to open to the Education tab, and away she goes- she doesn't even have to switch tabs as she works through the query.
