| Personally I like the old security (7.80) better. I poked around too and it looks like if I check "Personal Information Data Entry" then I can view SSNs (and thus unchecking it will hide the SSNs) but I can ALSO view credit card info. I was surprised by that because I thought that's what the "Credit Card Report" option would be used for.
So it looks like there's no way to allow SSNs and also deny c.c. info on the same security group - or if there is it will take a lot of trickery on my part - and trickery takes time. It's just so much easier on 7.80.
